Since
28 November 1999, for the first time in Georgia, Magti GSM started to operate
1800 MHz frequency band parallel with 900 MHz. This was the result of the
high-rate development of the Company and the willingness to improve the
service quality. Dual frequency will allow us to meet world standards:
though comparatively new, GSM 1800 is already widespread throughout Europe,
and together with GSM 900, is one of the best solutions to the congestion
problem in the large cities.
To take full advantage of Magti GSM 900/1800 MHz system, dual-band handsets
are needed, already available in Georgia.
